Calliope Fair's Driven by their flare for the eclectic, Calliope Fair has attracted a diverse listening audience with its blend of Balkan, Klezmer, American Folk, Celtic, and Latin. They’ve even been known to throw in the occasional Madonna cover. The band has played various venues including CBGBs Gallery and The Knitting Factory in New York City, NY as well as the 40Watt and The Georgia Theatre in Athens, GA. In both 2001 and 2002, the band received the Flagpole Music Award for Best in World Music as well Best in Folk, Bluegrass, and Gospel. Calliope Fair has been fortunate enough to share a stage with such great musicians as The Drive-by Truckers, Drivin’ and Cryin’, as well as David Blackman and Rev Jeff Mosier. |
